NIERDC are pleased to welcome competitors to Pukekohe for the first round of the 2023 Golden Homes North Island Endurance Series at Pukekohe this weekend.
One Hour and Two Hour competitors will participate in four joint practice sessions on Friday before respective qualifying sessions and races on Saturday.
This weekend offers a unique opportunity to farewell one of New Zealand’s most iconic circuits. Pukekohe has a rich history in endurance racing so it’s fitting that one of the final ever events held at the circuit is the Golden Homes North Island Endurance Series.
See the images below for entry lists and schedule for the weekend. Please be advised these are both tentative due to the cancellation of the 3 Hour and reintroduction of the 2 Hour.
“With the NIERDC Series beginning much earlier than normal to allow for a Pukekohe round we are running with a smaller grid than normal, as other category series championships are still underway around New Zealand,” said NIERDC’s President Mark Petch.
“However we are confident that the following two rounds at Hampton Downs (21/22 April) and Taupo Raceway (12/13 May) the 3-Hour will return with strong competitor interest at this point in time; with the race results contributing to the inaugural 2023 New Zealand National Endurance Racing Championship,”
One Hour results from this weekend will count towards the New Zealand Endurance Championship.
There will be a compulsory verbal Driver’s briefing for NIEDRC One Hour, Two Hour, Super V8’s, OSCA, Honda Cup competitors on Saturday 4th March at 08:00. The location will be outside the Skyline Garage next to the Pit Crossing.
