Nothing could deny Glenn Smith/John de Veth a fourth straight win in the SBT Motorsport McLaren 650 S with Anthony Leighs finishing second in the Blackbull Markets Audi R8 with John Midgley finishing third in his Ford Falcon FG V8 Super Tourer.
Glenn Smith started the race and shot off into the distance Nick Ross would make an unscheduled pit stop after two laps he would get back out on circuit but didn’t complete enough laps to be classified as a finisher.
Speedworks Events manager Geoff Short was in a battle with the BMW E92 V8 of Kent Baigent with Short struggling to make his way passed he elected to make his compulsory pitstop after 20minute where he would hand over to his son Martin Short who would be making his first racing appearance in over 6months.
As the safety car didn’t make it usual appearance at Hampton Downs the majority of the teams elected to take their stops.
Anthony Leighs made his way pass John Midgley for second place the pair pitted on the same lap where the Caryle Performance team where able to do the quicker stop.
Lochlainn Fitzgerald -Symes was running fourth the team made a quick pitstop before Symes stalled leaving the pits he was able to get back going without loosing too much time.
However Symes would be forced into a retirement after he was forced to make a second pitstop and the Action Motorsport Crew where unable to fix the issues as Symes Slammed the door in frustration after leaving the cockpit.
John Buchanan was given a drive-through penalty for not making his pitstop outside of the pit window as the safety car would not appear once for the first time since 2014.
James Webb driving the Sean Kirkpatrick Porsche was able to get pass Gene Rollinson in the dying stages of the race until Rollinson was able to get his way back pass to the Class 2 win and Webb would bring his car to the GT-C win
Tim Martin and Luke Nueberger would win Class 1. Mark Meadows would win Class 3 John Midgley third overall was enough to win GT-B.
De Veth and Smith lead Overall and GT-A with Leighs and Midgley are tied for second.
