NEW COMPETITOR ANNOUNCEMENT: JOHN PENNY AND GENE ROLLINSON

John Penny and Gene Rollison will be driving in the Racer Products Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 R-EX for the 4-round 3 Hour Endurance Race.

Penny said he had more seat-time in preparation for this year’s extended endurance racing series than what he has had for a long time. He is looking forward to driving alongside Gene as he is a real benchmark in the GT3 cars, he has form, John said. “Gene has also dominated the TCR Endurance racing class in Racer Products Hyundai i30N TCR car, so I think we should a competitive driving team”.

Rollinson said, “Its great to have such a vastly experienced co-driver as John alongside me for this year’s Endurance Series. The Lamborghini is very similar to the Racer Products Audi GT3 I drove as under the skin they share the same V10 engine and basic aluminium chassis, however the Reiter Engineering Gallardo’s suspension is quite different to the Audi so its taken us a while to get our head around the best set-up for the car. We ran the new suspension set-up at Hampton Downs recently and it transformed the car so I am really looking forward to the first race at Pukekohe”. 

The team will be guided by crew chief Sam Mackenzie who has has done an awesome job prepping the car for this years series. The team expressed optimism and has confidence that they will be at the pointy end this season. “At the end of the day it’s as much about the driver pairing as it is the car, and I don’t think I could have a better co-driver than JP as he is fast, consistent and very experienced”, Gene said.
